Introduction
Spectrum West Interior Design (SWID) is a boutique design firm, founded by Roger Klein, ASID, CID, who is the principal designer. We provide our clients with the creativity and professionalism which have been acquired over twenty-five years of experience designing and implementing residential and commercial projects.
We have many completed projects in the South Bay area of Los Angeles alone, as well as other projects in the greater Los Angeles Area.
We appreciate the significance of architecture, planning and spatial relationships in design and we especially focus on these aspects in our work. If a project has the potential, we always strive to improve the area by possibly increasing the size and/or altering the footprint of the space and enhancing the architectural elements, when appropriate. The importance we invest in this architectural focus, enables us to enhance the function, design and value of the project.

We feel that it is important on any project, to work closely with the client to interpret their goals into an end product that meets the requirements and budget and results in an outstanding design. We work with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, vendors and other team members to engender an efficient and cooperative process, from the design phase, on through construction and completion.
Our Studio affords us a beautiful, efficient environment in which to work and meet with clients, team members and vendors.
We have the resources for design, remodeling, construction, fine furniture, furnishings, materials and finishes. We are able to design custom furniture, cabinetry and architectural drawings and detailing.
The best thing we can do for our clients, in addition to providing outstanding design, is to help them through the process of a project. Clients have often expressed how much they appreciate our ability to coordinate their project and our help in preventing the potential problems that often arise during the design/construction process. We will be with them from the beginning of design, until the project is completed.

The Designer
Roger Klein, ASID, CID, is the founder and principal designer of the firm. We provide a broad spectrum of interior design services, due to Roger’s extensive experience designing various types of projects.
His residential work has been published in Architectural Digest and in the Los Angeles Times Home Magazine, as well as other publications.
His credentials are as follows:
- Is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)
- Is a Certified Interior Designer (CID)
- Passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam. This is a requirement for professional membership in ASID.
- Passed the California Codes exam, administered by the California Council for Interior Design Qualification (CCIDC). This is a requirement for being a CID.
- Has a Bachelor of Professional Arts degree, with a major in interior design from Woodbury University, Burbank, California.

Sea Change
Design, as well as everything else, has significantly changed since before 2007. Even homeowners and businesses that can still afford to initiate design and remodeling projects, are changing their outlook.
They have become more cognizant of the importance of sustainability regarding harmful effects to the environment and to human health. Along with this, many have also decided to be more judicious with their finances.
It seems that we find ourselves in a new era, where many have decided to approach design on a smaller, more conservative scale. At SWID, we are sensitive to these issues and we have adjusted to this new reality.

Green Design
The twenty-first century has awakened to the importance of sustainability for us as individuals and for the planet. We are sensitive to these issues and are able to incorporate “green design” concepts and products into our projects.
